Full-moon mania wreaks havoc at local middle school

Well...it's almost a full moon and just a few days before April vacation. The kids at school are all riled up and off-the-wall. We basically had an ultimate fighting cage match in the gym today between 2 kids that had an altercation in class last week. (Guess they didn't learn 1st time around after getting suspended for a day.) They are now suspended for more days and one had to take a trip to the ER to see if his nose was broken. Sigh......
Now the Red Sox are losing to the Yankees 11-9 in the top of the 8th inning :/
I cannot wait for vacation!!!!
Mom & Dad called from Aruba today....said they saw a sea turtle laying eggs on the beach during the day and there was a big crowd watching her. I guess their normal room had a problem before they got there...broken pipes. They were able to stay on the first floor just 3 rooms down and the room should be ready, complete with new bed and matress by the time we get there on Saturday. If not, they are still going to try to get us a room on the first floor. Sounds like they are having a great trip :)
I did my first hill training today...not much as far as mileage goes, but I definitely felt the workout! Easy 5 miles tomorrow.

Scotch and bathing suits...not necessarily in that order!

Well today wasn't bad as far as Mondays go. We started our corporate step challenge at work today....we all got pedometers and log books. We won the challenge last year and our principal is expecting a repeat performance. 12,054 steps today....not too bad for a day without running. My cold is still hanging on....still stuffed up and my body was looking forward to a well-deserved day of rest...that was until I got home from work and decided it was a good day to mow the lawn and edge the beds around the trees next to the driveway! Piper, our Wheaton terrier, was so funny chasing me behind the lawn mower and then running away when I changed directions!
I did go to the gym today, but it was only for the tanning bed so that I don't burn to a crisp on the equator in Aruba next week.
I met Jennifer at the Wrentham Outlets to help her find a maternity bathing suit for the trip and summer. We were successful and I think that was a major relief for her to get that out of the way. I found a couple pairs of Adidas Climalite running shorts and shirts for sale that will be great for running in this summer.
We had dinner at Ruby Tuesdays....salad bar and mini slider burgers. They were ok but nothing to write home about. I do love the salad bar at Ruby's...but no chick peas tonight :(
Jennifer's mom asked me if I wanted to go with her to a Harvard/Yale alumni scotch tasting/dinner event sponsored by Glenlivit. It's on the Monday that we get back from Aruba...should be interesting! There will be a putting competition and the winner will win a Glenlivit Golf bag and there will be giveaways throughout the night.

Cyber Sneeze

lol...my new Super Hero name. Appropriate for a weekend of sickness. Click here for your random super hero name: http://www.generatorland.com/generators/superhero_gl.php#

Starting to feel a little better now. I still got out to run on Saturday and Sunday without too much difficulty beyond breathing through my mouth only.
I finally figured out how to attach photos to my blog through Flickr. Right now I only have photos loaded from our trip to Sonoma and San Francisco loaded up from 2 years ago. At least it will be all set up for when Parker arrives. I should have some pictures of Cullen and Griffin loaded up soon.
Next Saturday we leave for Aruba! Can't wait! Jennifer is going through all of her outfits now to figure out which ones will pass with her extra-large baby bump! She still needs to get a bathing suit for the week so that will be one of our main objectives in the next couple of nights.
Mom and Dad are in Aruba now...we might see them in the airport when we arrive next Saturday.
Taxes are all done and filed and we are actually getting a decent return this year after having to pay through the nose last year! I much prefer getting money back :)
Well....must get to sleep to make sure that my body is able to keep fighting off this cold!
Later...............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..............

Head Cold :(

Well....what better time to start blogging than when you're home from work with a massive head cold and bored out of your mind! I've been sick for a couple of days, but not too bad...just sniffles and sneezing. Last night, Jennifer and I went to see the Red Sox stomp on the Detroit Tigers 12-6. It was windy and chilly....the perfect scenario for the cold to take firm roots in both of us. In the hour drive back to the house we must have gone through a whole box of tissues. I slept pretty well and decided not to call in sick to work as Jennifer had. I had to leave school at lunchtime before my head exploded. After 3 hours on the couch watching mindless TV and Jennifer sleeping soundly upstairs, I decided that maybe if I went on my scheduled 5 mile run, it would help to clear out my head. It was a tough run but I finished in 38:15, a 7:39 pace. Not too bad for not being able to breath through my nose! It did actually help to break things up for a little while but now at 11pm, I'm completely blocked again.
We watched a movie tonight called The Mighty. It was a great little story that I would recommend for anyone to see. A couple of underdog, misfit kids become knights in shining armor. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119670/plotsummary
Well....I'm off to my bed and humidifier in hopes of a good night's sleep and a clearer head in the morning!
Cheers!
